Vintage Finds

Another local school fete, with goodies to rummage through yesterday. I found some fab clothes, books and CD's, however these are my new vintage treasures.

This sweet little sewing box for $1.00, will become a gift for my 7 year old. I will put in it all the essentials that a little girl will need to start sewing with. Things like a tape measure, small scissors, pin cushion, needle case, and thimble.

This vintage leather bag I found at a garage sale just out of the school, the girl selling it told me it belonged to her grandmother who used to do a lot of travelling. We weren't sure how old, maybe 1970's, any ideas?

I think the bag might be 1970s ... but how nice to know its history.

That sewing basket reminded me of one I used to have when I was young...not sure whatever happened to it. I'm sure your daughter will enjoy it.

the handbag reminds me of similar bags an auntie of mine collected (by accident), and she did that in the seventies, so i think that's a close bet. i'm very much attracted to the padded insides of that sewing basket too. funny that.
sewing basket is gorgy - never had anything like that. I would have been disallowed from pins...

WOW! Love both your fantastic bags! Such a perfect little sewing box for your girl too. I think your leather bag could be a little earlier, maybe 60s? but your pretty spot on I think. Seen several 40s ones usually the older they are the finer and more detailed the artwork close up and look like a proper painting on leather. Top finds, well done!
