The Local

It was the last day of school and teachers, parents and students were out celebrating at the local pub.

The pub is a community hub of our inner city village and Friday afternoons is when a lot of the local families meet for a chat, a laugh and a drink.

Last night the pub was full of parents all enjoying themselves, with the kids all playing happily together.

It was a nice way to wind down after a long and busy year.

Gathering places like that are so important for communities I think.
Sounds like the perfect way to sprend an evening.
Sounds lovely...nothing quite like the local pub for catching up. That's what I love about smaller communities.
Sounds DIVINE Alison....I envy you your 'local'....We don't have one out our way & the country girl in me misses having a 'regular' again.... ** sigh ** ....!
