Vintage Finds Part 2
Two of my favourite sayings:
"Seek and you shall find" and
"Good things come to those who wait"
So you can imagine my excitement when yesterday I found some of the items that have been on my wish list for a long time and then hey presto, I've finally found them.
That is what happened yesterday at a local car boot sale with these next two photo's.
I love my old baskets for shopping to the corner shop.
Also great to fill with kids things for entertainment when at a cafe.
This one $0.50. WOW!
Now here's Miss Pixie on an old table that came with the house when we bought it. My man said he'd chop it up and dump it, to my horror. I could see many advantages keeping it. Yes, sure the old laminate has seen better days with holes and scorch marks, but it is still solid. So after some gentle persuasion he eventually came around to my way of thinking and here's why.
It's been a great art table for the kids with the messier projects.
No more back bending with potting plants on the ground and now that the warm weather is on it's way, it only needs a simple makeover and it is perfect for out door dining.
That's where my next finds come into play.
Lastly, this pineapple upside down cake recipe came from the book by the Australian actress Lisa McCune and her good friend Di.
I bought this on Saturday at a kinder fair for $5.00, and even better it is signed by both ladies. It has many lovely family friendly recipes, hints, games etc in it. So the girls and I baked this cake as a celebration cake for their dad completing the 210 klm ride "Around the Bay in a Day". We thought the pineapple circles looked a bit like bike wheels.

Just what was missing from my shabby old kitchen.
$2.00 for the sifter and I think the letter holder was $5.00.
I'm skipping and jumping with joy. Tra..la..la..laa

Nothing like a vintage tablecloth to hide what lurks beneath.
This haul $12.00 the lot.
